Modelo de Competências de Liderança na Emergência e Proteção Civil Portuguesa

In the context of Emergency and Civil Protection, this research aims to identify a model of leadership competencies for the elements of the Portuguese Firefighters Command Board. To identify the model, the quantitative method was used through the application of a questionnaire with closed questions to a population of around 1200 elements of the Portuguese Firefighters Command Board, from which 231 responses were obtained. To obtain the model, the statistical method of multiple linear regressions was used between the 27 competencies under study and the two criteria factors (extraordinary effort and satisfaction). From the results of the investigation, a model of leadership skills was identified for the context of Emergency and Civil Protection with the following skills: Openness to multiculturalism; Technical and professional aptitude; Assertiveness; Self-control; Optimism and enthusiasm; Team work; Empathy; and participative leadership.
