Water-soluble phytochemical inhibitors for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s prevention

Projeto

Detalhes do projeto

Description

Phytochemicals, natural compounds found in plant-based foods, exhibit antioxidant properties as demonstrated in laboratory studies. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the PhytoAPP project will develop innovative water-soluble phytochemical inhibitors for preventing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. It will explore nanotechnological solutions to address the challenge of low water solubility in phytochemicals, employing fullerene-enhanced synthesis to create water-soluble green phytocomplexes. Collaborating with partners possessing multidisciplinary expertise in nanomaterials, physics, engineering, green chemistry, biochemistry and medical science, the project aims to carry out groundbreaking research and innovation activities. The primary focus is on the application of phytoproducts to enhance health and well-being. Financial assistance is available for researchers with disabilities to ensure physical accessibility and foster inclusion.
