Marko Beko was born in Belgrade, Serbia, on November 11, 1977. He received the Dipl. Eng. degree from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST), Lisbon, Portugal, in 2008. He received the Agregação (Habilitation) degree in electrical and computer engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2018. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, Portugal. He is also a Researcher at the UNINOVA, Campus da FCT/UNL, Monte de Caparica, Portugal. His current research interests are in the area of cognitive radio, wireless sensor networks and nonconvex optimization.
