Literature reports that the consumption of pornography is associated with a risk of sexual violence, namely through personality and affect factors. Therefore, this study aims to understand the role of personality in emotional responses to rape in men through the observation of a clip displaying sexual violence versus physical violence against woman. Thirty male students participated in this study. The main results revealed a negative association between agreeableness, conscienciousness and sexual arousal, and a positive association between neuroticism and sexual arousal, regarding the sexual violence clip. There was also a negative association between agreeableness, conscienciousness and positive affect, and between agreeableness, conscienciousness and sexual arousal to the physical violence clip. The main potentiality of this study is opening new veins of research in the area, providing relevant information regarding the perpetration of violence against women.
