Preditores psicopatológicos do interesse sexual pedofílico numa amostra de abusadores sexuais de menores

Abstract

Interest in the Child Abuse a phenomenon has been increasing throughout the years. However, the confusion to label all child sexual agressors as pedophiles still persists (in large part) because of how media approaches this phenomenon. The majority of society see these agressors as sick people that can´t be cured and as someone who deserves high prison sentence or, in somes cases, death sentence. As we are in the 21st century, it is necessary to look at these aggressors from other perspective and help them through rehabilitation. We must acknowledge the vulnerability factors underpinning pedophilic sexual interest. This work is aimed at analyzing the psycophatological predictors of pedophilic sexual interest in ways to create intervention strategies targeting this type of population.
