The paper presents conceptual and
historical contours of citizenship and struggles for human rights
, addressing the new
technological era and the current citizenship configuration within this new reality. This
dissertation is also about the Political Pedagogical Project of schools, its purpose,
construction process within a school community covenant and
its importance in
educational strategy. A survey sought to verify in two schools , through interviews
with Directors, Municipal Secretary of Education, teachers, students and parents,
how effective is the Political Pedagogical Project to the transmition o
f citizenship
values. The research used descriptive method and as a result showed that the
Political Pedagogical Project is effective in conveying the values of citizenship in the
exact measure in which it is built, planned, designed and implemented with t
he
collaborative effort of the entire school community. Without the participation of the
whole community the Political Pedagogical Project becomes mere bureaucratic
document without real importance for educational practice
