The present study aims to investigate the Collective Director as well as the activities of its constituent members, its organization and functioning, considering the power relations involved and the School Djalma Maranhão-Natal/RN. This was the starting point that guided our investigative journey. The theoretical and methodological framework that supported the research and helped toread the data were as follows: Freire (2001); Paro (1995); Gadotti (2013); Libâneo (2008); Foucault (1979); Dourado (2013); Amado (20013), among others. The methodology used principles of democratic management. Having as object of study these same relationships, the research sought to answer the following question: What is the shape power relationships among members within the Collective Director of Municipal was the qualitative approach and opted for the case study as a research strategy, and we use content analysis as a method of collecting and analyzing empirical data. The results allowed us to see and understand he power relations that are present between the members of the Collective that are seen by interviewees as vertical and asymmetrical which contradict the principles of participation and democratic management.
