This work aims to find other alternatives for the current public school organizational
model, concerning the coordination and the educational orientation in the way it makes school
management easier.
It is most needed a reflection on the homeroom teacher’s role within the current
organization scenario and carry on with studies on which new organizational design should
help him to act committed in the learning process and citizenship development.
The chosen methodology follows the qualitative model with descriptive and
interpretive type. In this way, it was selected eight private schools, according to the top
position in the national ranking so that an alternative management model could be built. It
was also selected twenty two opinions of public school homeroom teachers as well as twenty
two school principals’ who have expressed their viewpoints about the current organizational
and the alternative models.
To access to private school principals, semi-structured interviews were made;
concerning those questioned of the public schools, it was carried out by means of inquiries,
previously worked out.
It was aimed, in this scenario, to know which of the school organizational paradigms,
according to those who were questioned, leads to an increase of school success among
students and educational institution.
