This investigation intends to verify the impact of the application of the Program of
Stimulation in Attention - PEA, in the attentional capacity, in a pilot sample, in children of
Basic Education, with ages between 7 and 10 years, during 6 weeks.
For such verification, the PEA was applied to the mentioned sample, being previously
evaluated with the test of Attention d2 and of the Turtle of the Island and also after the application of the training with the PEA being possible to verify the comparative data. Some of
the children in the sample are diagnosed with ADHD and others indicated by their parents and
teachers as inattentive and with difficulties in concentrating.
The results revealed, in the reduced pilot sample, that before the application of the PEA,
with the application of the d2 test, the sample showed results in the global total on average in
the 15th percentile. With the evaluation of the Tartaruga da Ilha Test in the simple attention test (AS) on average children tend to the median value obtained in the 25th percentile; in complex
care (AC1) on average, students show results close to the 25th percentile and in the second test of complex attention (AC2) the average results tend to the 20th percentile.
Thus, it was found that the PEA can be an instrument of cognitive intervention with
potential success in children diagnosed with ADHD or indicated as inattentive, deconcentrated
and disorganized.
