This dissertation is the result of a quantitative and qualitative descriptive research developed
from two preschools in the municipal education located in areas north and east of the city of
Teresina. The aim of this study was to analyze the process of organizing the operationalization
articulated curriculum for pre-schools in the city of Teresina - PI. The theoretical availed
himself of contributions in the field of early childhood education, we take as reference studies
the authors: KRÄMER (2004), ARCE (2007), NICOLAU (2004), OLIVEIRA (2004), among
others. In the basement about the historical foundations curriculum appealed for the following
authors: SACRISTÁN (2000), MOREIRA (2006), BIANCHI (2001), APPLE (1982), NÓVOA
(1995), among several other scholars who discuss the issue of curriculum and practices
teaching. In producing this work, we adopted as instruments for data collection, creating a field
diary, questionnaires and semi-structured reflective interview. Data were analyzed and
articulated the theoretical perspective dialectic. The dissertation is divided into three chapters:
Chapter 1, introduces the theoretical framework followed for Chapter 2, which presents the
methodological aspects of the research, and Chapter 3, where we present the results and
discussions of the study, besides the introduction of and closing remarks, the bibliographic
references. Found in this research that preschools need practices increasingly consistent and
meaningful ways as building knowledge required to complete development of their students.
So to conclude this study all objectives were achieved and that social representations in early
childhood education, shared by teachers working in pre-schools in the city of Teresina, is that
a quality school teachers must be well prepared and committed, counting on a good qualifying
and favorable conditions.
