Abstract

Informal caregivers (IC) play a very significant role in our community. Taking care of physical as well as psychological consequences. In this sense, the present investigation intends to contribute to an identification of the relationship between the overload and the perception of the CI's coping strategies, its diligence and evaluation of the strength of the type of care in the overload. CI participants were aged between 19 and 87 years old. At the overload level, 73.1% present a level without overload. As coping strategies, the use of IC, but the use, leads more to conquest (M= 6.7). Our results demonstrate statistically significant correlations with no advance in the coping strategies used by the CI to minimize burden. It presents several differences in terms of overload depending on the time dependent on the care task (time or part-time). There are no differences in CI overload, due to support for the execution of maintenance tasks. I hope that, as a study, there is an increase in knowledge about the CI and that the results obtained from the CI will be helped in the recognition of effort strategies and the development of causes for success.
