Over the past years, The Psychological Well-being has been the focus of attention and study, especially in what relates to its impact on the health of human beings.
The present study aims to validate the Psychological General Well-being Scale developed by Harold Dupuy in 1984 for the Portuguese population. For this purpose, data was obtained from a total of 600 participants aged over eighteen, of both genders, with no chronic disease, and from two geographic areas (Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia).
Bearing in mind the results of this study and using the confirmatory factor analysis from the original model presented by the author, we could conclude that this scale cannot be validated as far as the Portuguese population is concerned, since it neither produces good suitability indixe.
