This paper deals with the educational management in a public school of Rio Grande do Norte.
The central question is if the school in study works the principles of a democratic
management. Its objective is to investigate how it is articulated the management of the school
in study, aiming to contribute to the social, political and pedagogical development of
managers, coordinators, teachers and students that compose it. Its specific objectives verify
the pedagogical practices of the actors involved in the educational process; understand how articulates the school management via the narratives of the Manager and pedagogical coordinators; and evaluate documents from school. It is based on authors such as Paro (2007; 2008); Hora (1994; 2010) and França (2005), who defend the democratic administration for
the improvement in the quality of public education in Brazil. It’s a quantitative and qualitative
research, through an exploratory and descriptive study. As sources of research are queried the
Pedagogical Political Project, the School Regiment in its different dimensions, the manager of the school, pedagogical coordinators, teachers and students. The results seem to indicate that the school works in a democratic perspective pointing weaknesses in relation to the lack of involvement of all participants the school community.
