Investigate the teaching praxis in the school context enables us to think about the types of learning structures used in education and their implications for the knowledge, because one of the aspects of the concept of Praxis that bring significant contributions to the educational area is the conception that the Praxis search movement, transformation, and so is essentially dynamic. The research carried out here especially addresses teaching practice in the 1st year of Junior School but it aims also at detecting which conceptions form that practice in the six year old child’s teaching-learning process, while still at the initial phase of schooling. This is an empirical research of a descriptive nature and of a quali quantitative approach. This dissertation is composed of four chapters. In the first chapter we will study the course of junior education in Brazil; in the second we will point out about the history and context of the teacher training; in the third we will analyze teacher practice in the schools day to day and, in the fourth chapter we will point out the methodology used to undertake the present research, analysis and debate of results obtained. It is our intention to bring to debate if the practice of teachers who teach at municipal public schools in Manaus is in accordance to the profile of six year old children.
