Abstract

The study tries to check if there is some relationship between dance and change of behavior in two groups of students who took part in dance classes in two public schools in Aracaju, capital of Sergipe. Through a descriptive research using the interview resource as well direct observation we can see that most of the students was invited by the teacher to participate in the dance classes and the others by colleagues. In both schools, the dance has usually practiced according to the school calendar, and they learn different kinds of dances, from classical ballet, oriental dances, folk dances like frevo and hip hop, etc., the students were oriented to follow a choreography prepared by the teacher, but allowing the students to improvise some steps. About the relationship between the dance and behavior changes in the schools surveyed, it is positive, because besides they like to dance and being pushed over studies, thought the dance, the students have shown uncovered feelings, self-esteem, in addition they were more responsible and the relationship with colleagues-teachers get more closer.
