A new perspective on the issue (always on the agenda) of voluntary termination of pregnancy

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In this article, we try to reflect about the termination of pregnancy which is not punishable by the women’s choice. On the one hand, we do it based on existing law; on the other, we take account of comparative law and other subjects. In the end, we draw the same conclusion we did a few years ago that voluntary termination of pregnancy (VTP) by choice of women should be reviewed, not in the sense that certain people would like, but reaffirming the need to introduce a social indication in Article 142, Number 1 Paragraph (e) of the Portuguese Penal Code as we had previously done.
