The THOR-X project is a multi-phase knowledge translation research project designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a tailored, one-to-one exercise intervention for adolescents with severe obesity. The project integrates clinical, behavioral, and educational components to improve obesity-related comorbidities, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and psychosocial outcomes. It also aims to enhance the knowledge and confidence of healthcare and exercise professionals through the development and implementation of an evidence-based educational toolkit.

Layman's description

This project studies how personalized exercise programs can help adolescents with obesity and severe obesity improve their health. It also trains health and exercise professionals to better support these adolescents. The goal is to find effective, practical ways to reduce obesity-related health problems and improve quality of life.
