Targeting β-cell dysfunction as a therapeutic strategy for diabetes: a multi-omics approach

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The project aims (a) to provide novel insights on the molecular targets and mechanisms underlying β-cell dysfunction, uncovering molecular targets for potentiating transdifferentiation of α-cells to β-cell-like insulin producers, and (b) to explore the beneficial health effects of small molecule (poly)phenol metabolites (SMPM) in modulating these targets to restore metabolic homeostasis.
