Lusophone flora fighting disease: focus on therapeutic lysyl oxidase modulators

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project explores how plants from Portuguese-speaking regions could provide new treatments for wound healing and breast cancer. By investigating Lysil oxidase enzymes and their role in these conditions, the project aims to find natural compounds that can modulate LOX activity. These compounds will be tested on breast cancer cells and skin cells to understand their effects. Additionally, the project will use advanced techniques to enhance the effectiveness and safety of these natural compounds. This collaborative effort brings together experts from various fields to train young researchers and establish international partnerships for future progress.
