Biography

Sergio Fallone de Andrade holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Alfenas (1998), a Master's degree in Pharmacology from São Paulo State University (2001), and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP) (2005), Brazil. He completed postdoctoral fellowship at Lund University, Sweden (2017–2018). Currently, he is a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He has teaching and research experience, focusing on the pharmacological evaluation of natural products and probiotic formulations in vivo. His research interests include gastritis, antiulcer activity, gastroprotection, hepatoprotective effects, and inflammatory bowel diseases. Throughout his career, he supervised over 40 students, including PhD, Master´s, Undergraduate students, and postdoctoral fellow researchers. He has published over 130 articles in international journals, contributed to 5 book chapters, and served as a guest editor for international journals four times. Besides, he is an editor for "Frontiers in Pharmacology" and "Therapeutic Advances in Gastroenterology".
