Biography

Marta Jecu is assistant researcher at CeiED, Universidade Lusofona, Lisbon and independent curator, working in the fields of museology and contemporary art. She has been working in the past 3 years at the research labs Imera Aix Marseille University and at Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, Paris. Before she has been integrated researcher at CICANT, Universidade Lusofona, Lisbon. She has obtained her PhD at Freie Universitaet Berlin. She has published in academic journals and magazines like: Journal of Curatorial Studies /Routledge, Journal of Visual Art Practice/ Routledge, The Routledge Encyclopedia of Modernism, Pidgin Magazine/Princeton University, E-Flux, and edited 3 collected essays volumes. In 2017 she has initiated EXODUS STATIONS (www.exodusstations.com) on the role of contemporary art for new museology. The project includes curated exhibitions, publications, conferences and research.
