Biography

Teresa Mendes Flores, PhD in Communication Sciences by the New University of Lisbon. Her dissertation was a contribution in the field of photography and visual culture, investigating the history of images with top views, from the rock map to the virtual globe (Photography in the Production of Space and other images. Research on the imaginary of top views in western culture, Lisboa: FCSH, 2009). She is Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences of Lusophone University, Lisbon. She is also a member of CIC.Digital Nova (Research Center in Comunication and Digital Culture) where she is a post doctorate fellow in the history of photography. Teresa Mendes Flores integrates the direction board of the Journal of Communication and Languages (Revista de Comunicação e Linguagens) and of the book collection Media and Journalism. She published Cinema and Modern Experience (MinervaCoimbra, 2007), several book chapters and papers in various academic journals.
