Biography

Luís Massuça is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre, and an Invited Assistant Professor at the Higher Institute of Police Science and Internal Security. His background is in Sports Sciences, with a PhD in Human Kinetics, a Master's in High-Performance Training, and a Master's in Teaching Physical Education. Moreover, he is an Integrated Researcher at the ICPOL Research Centre (FCT) and an Associate Researcher at the CIDEFES and CIFI2D. His main research interests relate to physical fitness standards for emergency response occupations and talent identification in sports. In these research domains, he has (co-)authored one book, several book chapters, and papers in scientific journals. He also served as a reviewer for scientific journals in military medicine, sports medicine, and sports sciences. Luís was also a team HB player for 20 years, and he is an EHF PRO Licence Coach and member of the UUHT/EHF.
