Biography

Rita Pasion has a master's degree in Psychology (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto) and is a certified member of the Portuguese Psychological Association. Since 2014 she has been using neuroscience methods to study the etiological pathways of internalizing and externalizing psychopathology (e.g., anxiety, depression, antisocial behavior, psychopathy) . She is currently involved in research projects inserted in the ¿Research Domain Criteria" initiative promoted by the National Institute of Mental Health (USA) that aim to search for basic mechanisms of psychopathology and identify biomarkers that may be useful to conceive empirically-informed classification diagnosis systems. Her research work has resulted in a considerable amount of scientific production with about 35 publications (11 of them as first author) in top-level international journals. She has recently received 2 research awards.
