Biography

Jacqueline Ferreira Marques earned her degree in Social Work in 1997 from the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social de Coimbra. In 2003, at the same institution and under the supervision of Professor Carlos Tomaz Jacques, she completed her Master's degree in Social Work. In 2016, she obtained her PhD in Social Work from Universidade Lusíada, supervised by Professor Fernanda Rodrigues and Professor Marina Antunes.

She began her professional career as a social worker in 1997. In 2000, she started her academic career, having taught at several institutions, including Instituto Superior Miguel Torga, Universidade Católica, Instituto Politécnico de Gaya, Instituto Politécnico de Viseu, Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto, and the University of Coimbra, where she taught for approximately 13 years.

She is currently an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University of Lisbon, where she teaches in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Social Work and Social Policy. Her research interests include social policies, professional competencies, and social inequality.
