Biography

Is currently an assistant professor at Lusophone University of Porto and a postdoctoral grantee in Communication Sciences by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. She is also a researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), University of Minho, Portugal. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences, with a specialization in Communication Psychology. Her research interests include gender and media studies, social media and social movements. She served as vice-chair of the Gender and Communication Section of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) and before that she was the Gender and Communication YECREA representative. She published papers and participated in national and international events. She maintains an active involvement with diverse Portuguese non-governmental organisations that work with gender, feminisms and human rights.
