Biography

Ariana Saraiva is an Assistant Professor at Research in Veterinary Medicine (I-MVET), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lusófona University, and she is an Integrated Member of CECAV. She graduated in Nutritional Sciences from the Egas Moniz Higher Institute of Health Science, Portugal, and obtained her Ph.D. in Animal Health and Food Safety from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Her main research interests are food safety evaluation, food innovation, sensory analysis, and natural food products. She has published more than 40 papers in indexed JCR journals and co-authored a book with Professor Antonio Raposo in English. She has been acting as Guest Editor of Special Issues published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and Nutrients. In 2024, she was distinguished with the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Nutrients journal (MDPI).
