Biography
Ana Lima has a degree in Biology, a Master's Degree in Toxicology and completed her PhD degree in 2010, at the University of Aveiro in the area of plant biochemistry. She later developed her postdoc in the area of food anticancer bioactivities at the Higher Institute for Agronomy of the University of Lisbon. Her expertise resides mainly on plant and food proteomics and metabolomics, with a particular focus on bioactive compounds that may be used in Human and Animal Health, mainly in inflammation and cancer preventive/ curative diets and natural alternatives to antibiotics and food disinfectants. She holds currently a total of 39 peer-reviewed publications, including book chapters and scientific papers, 31 communications in national and international congresses, and has co- edited a book. She has also participated in a total of 11 projects, both national and European. She has received the Born from Knowledge Award from Food Nutrition in 2018 and holds already 3 international patents.
